In Central Oregon, both public and fine arts are a major focus for the local community. With beautiful murals on buildings, sculptures on roundabouts, and nationally-recognized brands – the evidence is clear. That is why this special new Art Station is a facility to be celebrated providing free time space for both amateur and advanced artists. At approximately 4,000SF, this facility is combined with high-tech sustainable functionality including sensors in every room that inform the automatic heating/cooling systems. The space not only provides classrooms for anytime guests & coordinated programmings such as painting, drawing, and mixed-media, it also includes a ceramic room with over a dozen pottery wheels and three electric kilns. We at Griffin even had our own opportunity to get creative by hand carving the 11 timber beams at the entrance of the building. Located on the Larkspur Community Center campus in Bend, this fun space supports the overall mission of Bend Parks & Recreation: “To strengthen community vitality and foster healthy, enriched lifestyles...”.
